2010 Richmond Hill Municipal Election Information

Election Day for all municipalities in the Province of Ontario is Monday, October 25, 2010. On this day, voters in the Town of Richmond Hill will elect positions for the offices of Mayor, Regional and Local Councillor (two positions), Ward Councillor (one for each of Wards 1 to 6) and Trustee for the English Public (two positions), English Separate, French Public and French Separate School Boards.

The term of office is from December 1, 2010 to November 30, 2014.

Important – Voter Identification Requirements

In the upcoming Richmond Hill Municipal Election, identification will be required in order to receive a ballot from election officials. Eligible voters must present the prescribed proof of identity and residence or complete an application in the prescribed form, including a statutory declaration that he or she is the elector shown on the voter’s list. Examples of the types or combination’s of acceptable forms of identification can be found on the Town of Richmond Hill Website at this link: http://www.richmondhill.ca/documents/2010_election_acceptable_voter_id.pdf
